“The cabin is a hunting themed cabin with lots of taxidermy displays. It is rustic and well appointed with kitchen necessities. Grill was a standout feature and the quality of the cast iron cookware. Bathrooms are very functional. Beds are adequate quality. The location was perfect for the sandhill crane migration with large flocks roosting on property along with wild turkeys. A peaceful and private property with lovely private pond and a nice 20 minute walk on property

ABOUT CWR

The Cedar Woods Retreat cabin is perfectly located for easy access to enjoy the Crane migration, additional bird and wildlife watching, and a seven-mile scenic drive to Bassway Strip. CWR is surrounded by nature’s playground with a meadow for deer and turkey, a pond outside the back door for fishing and swimming, a trail for walking, and the grounds are also home to a local bee hive and designated conservation land area. CWR is a private residence on private property. A map of the property is provided inside the cabin. There are designated areas which are locked and/or not accessible to guests.

Cabin Rules & Regulations

  • 6 Guests Maximum – (tenting is allowed for additional guests)
  • A 2-night minimum stay is required at a rate of $400.00 per night.
  • Check-In: 3:00 p.m.
  • Check Out: 11:00 a.m.
  • Pets Allowed ($20 extra per night for each pet)
  • No Events. No Parties.
  • No Smoking inside the cabin. Containers are provided outside for disposal.

  • Water Safety: No Lifeguard on duty. Bring your own life jackets. Swimming and playing in or around the water is at your own risk.
  • Fire Pit Safety: An adult must supervise the fire pit the entire time in use. It is illegal to leave a recreational fire unattended.
    • Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the fire.
    • Do not use any flammable liquid to start the fire.
    • Do not wear flammable clothing or any loose-fitting clothing.
    • Keep combustible items at least 15 feet away from the fire.
    • Completely extinguish the fire after use.

This was a perfect place to get some relaxation away from the city. We were there to see the cranes. They flew right over the house and we could hear them in the evenings. This is a hunting themed cabin, so expect to be surrounded by taxidermy. Nice big table to play games and do puzzles as well.

So many great things to share about this property! We fell in love with the rustic cabin ambiance. Plenty of games are available to play such as Mad Gab, cards, etc. The outside area is incredible! Private, peaceful, and full of nature. Loved taking a walk around the property and seeing some wildlife. Amazing pond with a super fun rope to swing into the water. We brought our dog and he loved chasing his ball into the pond. Wonderful fire pits and outdoor furniture. Fully stocked kitchen and cozy amenities. We truly loved this cabin and highly recommend.
